Instagram Worthy Spots in Boston
Restaurants
The interior decor of restaurants has definitely improved in the past years. Restauranteurs know that an attractive interior, paired with attractive and unique dishes, can be a big seller on social media. These are some Boston area restaurants that you can also snap an insta-worthy photo at. There are so many neat places popping up around the city, but start with checking out these restaurants for both their good looks and good food.
Terra at Eataly
This rooftop restaurant at Boston’s Eataly gives off a natural aesthetic- as the decor is neutral and covered in plants. Terra specializes in Italian food (duh), and also has a craft cocktail program and an extensive wine list.
Citrus & Salt
Everything about this restaurant seems like it is a photo op. From the food, the drinks, to the decor- even the bathroom! Citrus & Salt is a coastal Mexican taqueria and margarita bar and it seems like it is one of those restaurants you have to go to so you can at least say you’ve been.
Tiger Mama
This southeast-Asian inspired restaurant in the Fenway neighborhood is home to a well-planned tiki cocktail menu and an array of Thai-fusion street food. The food is delicious but the tiki’s are where your Instagram is going to gravitate towards. Oh- don’t forget to order the mango sticky rice :)
Sweet Waffles & Boba
Get yourself a decked out Belgian waffle from Sweet Waffles & Boba. This small shop is down by the Chinatown gate on a lower-level tenancy. Perfectly cooked and topped with a variety of delicious goodies, these bad boys taste as good as they look. Their boba list is pretty extensive, so grab one while you’re at it.
Tatte Bakery & Cafe
Tatte…Tatte…Tatte…this popular bakery and cafe has taken over the city of Boston and they even have a DC location now. When they first became popular, I remember them being the place to snap an instagram pic. Just do yourself a favor and go into one yourself, and be sure to grab something to eat while you’re there.
Mariel
This Cuban inspired restaurant was one of the hottest Boston restaurant openings in 2019, and is also home to Mariel Underground, a nightclub. An old Havana inspired interior makes for a popular backdrop for selfies, and the food photographs well too.
Rochambeau
This French-inspired restaurant is in the Back Bay adjacent to the Prudential Center. Rochambeau describes themselves as: “Part French Belle, part Parisian Street Kid seen through Rosé colored glasses. # LetsFrench”. They’ve got the food, the drinks, and the interior design down pat.
Woods Hill Pier 4
Ah yes, WHP4- my old job. I’m going to be honest- the interior is not that great (a little too boring and grey IMO but the bar area is cool), but it is the view that you are coming for. So when patio season rolls around, get yourself a table and snap that view while you’re sipping on a frose.
Teriyaki NYC
This place littered my instagram newsfeed for some time and I knew I needed to get my hands on one. Finally they built a shop in Boston and my unicorn ice cream dreams were fulfilled. Yes- it tastes as good as it looks and the red bean paste at the bottom of the teriyaki is A+.
SPOTS
Boston is a smaller city but it has a lot of charm and there are many different parts of the city that make it what it is. Take a look at these locations to guide you towards your next instagram post. Of course there are more spots around the city than the ones listed here, but these are some popular and beautiful places to check out (even if you aren’t looking to beef up your IG feed!).
Newbury Street
Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood might be most well known for Newbury Street. This is the shopping hub of the city, and maybe anywhere in New England. Historic brownstones and tree covered streets make this shopping district and residential area both picturesque and a popular neighborhood to venture into.
Boston Public Library
Located in Copley Square, the Boston Public Library is a grand site to behold. A 50-foot high barrel vault ceiling, rows of wooden desks with emerald green lamps, and a tasteful courtyard make for a beautiful photo. The little nooks and crannies of the library also make for some moody photography.
The North End
The North End is home to Boston’s Little Italy. Splattered with restaurants and narrow streets, hit it up in the daytime to see the old brick buildings in all their charm. The view at the cross of Salem St & Prince Street is 100%.
Charles River Esplanade
The Charles River splits of Boston from Cambridge. The Charles River Esplanade runs along the Back Bay and is great for walking, running, and bicycling. There are many benches, some docks, and lots of trees for hammock setups.
Acorn Street
Acorn Street is located in Boston’s Beacon Hill Neighborhood and is dubbed the most photographed street in Boston (and America) for its cobble stone roads and Victorian brick row houses. It looks great in all 4 seasons, so there is never a bad time to visit.
Boston Public Garden
The Boston Public Garden is NYC’s equivalent to Central Park. Although much smaller, this park has lots to photograph. In the summer, the Swan Boats make for a neat photo, especially when framed by the massive weeping willows. The foot bridge and Make Way for Ducklings sculpture are two other popular photo ops here.
Fenway Park
Ah yes- America’s favorite pastime: spending summer days at the ballpark. This iconic stadium is of course home to the Boston Red Sox. Grab tickets to a game and feel the buzz of game-day!
The Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University
This patch of 281-acre patch of paradise in the city is just what you need for your instagram feed. A wide variety of landscape and plants make this beautiful spot. People take their wedding photos and senior portraits here for a reason.
