AirBnB: The G-Frame

Tucked in a corner of their expansive backyard in Sanbornton, NH, Alex and Colleen have created the most peaceful oasis with the newly-constructed G-Frame. This part A-Frame and part Saltbox style cabin is small yet spacious, complete with a kitchenette, indoor toilet, sitting area, dining table, and a loft-style bed.

Because the cabin is set back from the host’s house, you park your car at the house and can carry your belongings about 1000 ft, via a cart. The cabin is hidden from the house, but if you go into the field you can see the home.

The kitchenette has the necessary basics, and there is a fire pit as well. The loft has a massive (and comfortable!) mattress- and pillows, sheets, and a blanket are provided. The cabin has a porch with two lounge chairs, perfect for watching the clouds pass overhead on a sunny day while listening to the birds chirping. A huge bonus for me was the toilet being inside the cabin! All of the other glamping AirBnb’s I have done have had a separate outhouse. It was nice not having to go outside in the middle of the night to pee 😂

Adjacent to the cabin is a barrel-style sauna which we did not use since it was so hot out. But, I’ve used this style sauna before at another AirBnb and it was great! This feature is perfect for late fall and winter stays.

The town this cabin is in, Sanbornton, is not quite north enough to be in the White Mountains, but it isn’t far away- just under an hour to Franconia Notch! It is however close to Lake Winnipesaukee, the place to be for a New Hampshire summer on a lake :)

Another nearby place to visit, which we did, is Wellington State Park in Bristol. A quick 30 minutes away and it has a lake, walking trails, and a nice picnic area. The water is super clear and perfect for swimming in. It was a bit crowded when we arrived but it was so good to see families outside enjoying themselves again! We had also reserved a park entry (some state parks are making that a thing now). This covered the entry fee that we would have had anyways, and ensured we would have a spot even if they were at capacity.

After our departure from the cabin we went north instead of south to go to The Common Man restaurant (I think in Ashland) and had some seriously good food. The Common Man has a bunch of restaurants, and I’ve only ever gotten their branded food at the Hooksett rest stop before. It is simple, classic, American-bar type food, but it was good! My friend got a chicken wrap, I got a wedge salad, and we shared a bacon onion dip…like wow, that dip was to die for.

So- if you’re looking for a little getaway to New Hampshire, don’t hesitate to book this G-Frame AirBnb and explore the surrounding area!
